Position Summary

The Development Coordinator is a values-driven, self-motivated team player with 2-4 years of practical work experience and training who will support the execution of a comprehensive fundraising and development plan. Responsibilities include database management, donor events, grant writing, individual giving and more. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and systems-focused professional looking to join a growing team and deepen their fundraising expertise.

Responsibilities

Administrative:

  • Manage the CRM/donor database.  Input data, produce reports, and ensure data integrity. Research, develop and implement best practices and new solutions for data maintenance and donor engagement.
  • Generate timely acknowledgment letters and other correspondence.
  • Work with members of the finance team to complete monthly reconciliations of all gifts. 
  • Assist with scheduling and cultivation of major donors and prepare meeting and follow-up materials.
  • Maintain files and reports to document activities and inform future work.

Campaign Management:

  • Execute multi-channel direct market fundraising for grassroots and community-level donors. Examples include Persisters, Give!Guide, Phone-a-thon and a newly imagined donor renewal program.
  • Expand workplace giving and employer matching gifts.

Donor Events:

  • Assist with logistics for fundraising and donor events including, but not limited to, house parties, major donor events, and large scale fundraisers and auctions.

Donor Relations:

  • Oversee “Moves Management” to support the Development Director and others as prospective donors are cultivated, solicited, and then stewarded. This includes, but is not limited to, managing “call-time,” maintaining and updating prospect lists, coordinating fundraising appointments and other approaches, and assisting with developing and tracking strategies, and follow-up.

Grant Writing:

  • Work with the Development Director and contracted personnel to support the full range of activities required to prepare, submit and manage grant proposals to foundation, corporate and government sources.
  • Maintain the grant tracking system including deadlines, contacts, submissions, report dates, updates and deliverables.
  • Conduct prospect research on foundation and corporate sources.
  • Work with the finance team and program staff to gather information necessary to report to corporate/foundation funders on current grant programs.
  • Comply with all grant reporting as required by foundation/corporate donors.

  • Facility with desktop computing including word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail and presentation software. Proficiency in Apple, Microsoft, and Google products preferred. 
  • Excellent writing, editing and communication skills.
  • Commitment to personal and professional growth and accountability.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to high ethical and professional standards.


Education and Training

  • Associate degree or higher preferred, but not required. Candidates with an equivalent level of work experience are also encouraged to apply.
  • Basic understanding of development, fundraising and nonprofit organizations

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently use a computer at a desk and is occasionally required to stand, walk, and/or sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Some travel required.

Salary

$35,000 - $51,00032 - 40 hours a week
