The Role

Concern Worldwide US is seeking a talented and collaborative, Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) with a passion for international emergency and humanitarian response work.

Reporting to the CFO, the Manager, FP&A will be responsible for annual and long-term financial planning, budgeting and financial analysis, and the production of periodic financial reports including certain financial statements. The Manager also serves as a member of the Finance Department's management team and works with other managers in the organization to implement greater efficiencies, better processes, and best practices. The Manager, FP&A will play a critical role in implementing and maturing financial processes and promoting financial discipline across the organization. In this role, you will create financial reports to review with cross-functional leaders to help them manage their budgets, refine their estimates, and create scalable KPIs.

The ideal candidate is very well organized, technical & flexible, with strong prioritization skills and a highly effective communicator.  

Key areas of oversight include:

·      P&L consolidation for monthly department financials, quarterly forecasts / budget consolidation across the organization as well as Balance Sheet / Cash Flow forecasting / budgeting

·      Analyzes monthly financial results in comparison to established budget, performs in depth monthly variance analysis, investigates significant variances, irregular and unusual transactions and informs CFO where/if corrective action as needed

·      Preparation for Board and Management reporting, including managing monthly internal financial reporting and variance analyses across all organizational departments, quarterly internal business reviews and working with Controller and CFO to ensure accurate and timely quarterly Board reporting

·      Includes cross-functional collaboration within and outside of Finance function, leading the evolution of FP&A reporting across departments

·      Collaborates and develops strong working relationships with other departments to ensure their needs and the organization’s needs are met while promoting a culture of high-performance and quality customer service

·      Guides department staff in conducting financial analysis which supports programmatic and organizational decision making

·      Manages Annual Budget process, including development of processes and timeline; training of staff on the execution; and making and tracking adjustments as needed

·      Partner with Controller and Director of Grants & Compliance and department leads to continually develop & execute standardized reporting and support continuous enhancement of the monthly reporting and close processes

·      Works with the entire finance team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and financial policies, including periodic regulatory filings

·      Continually innovates to provide the organization with metrics that measure financial results against multiple strategic priorities and enhance data interpretation

·      Implements and works with business intelligence tools to provide dashboard reporting metrics

·      Continuously take on additional responsibility to improve processes and procedures

·      Serve as a leader for the organization as well as a leader for the Finance & Administrative team as we continue to grow and expand Concern US


·      5+ years of experience with at least 3 years in FP&A. 

·      Excellent communication / collaboration skills required; role involves building strong relationships across the organization and communicating / presenting ideas clearly to management

·      Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively manage numerous work streams with competing timelines

·      Comfortable with ambiguity and a rapidly changing environment, changing priorities, and deadlines with short lead times

·      Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting.

·      Experience in analyzing financial performance and developing financial plans for a mid-sized organization

·      Ability to think critically and analytically in linking strategic planning to financial planning

·      Exceptional Excel / PowerPoint / financial modeling skills

·      Experience with USAID awards and NetSuite Finance and Accounting Systems preferred

·      Authorization to work in the US at time of hire
