Save First Financial Wellness

Full-time (40 hours/week); Exempt

Reports to: Save First Executive Director


AGENCY OVERVIEW:

Through the principles of Catholic Social Teaching, Catholic Charities of Oregon achieves lasting solutions to poverty and injustice by partnering with clients to meet their economic and educational goals, and to support their physical and social well-being. Catholic Charities is the official domestic relief agency of the Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon.


PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

Save First's Emergency Services Program Manager will be responsible for the implementation and management of all emergency services employer and community contracts and the supervision of assigned staff to service those contracts. This position will provide project management of all assigned contracts, intake, assessment, and administration of the emergency assistance funds of the corporate employer contracts. Will work closely with team members to reconcile fund distributions and reporting to corporate employer contracts. This person will work collaboratively with the Executive Director of Save First to determine eligibility of prospective clients into the program and assess how best to utilize funds. This position requires the ability to project manage, supervise assigned staff and work as a team member, integrating the client into every aspect of the program, ensuring a holistic approach to the client's needs.


PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide oversight and management of assigned corporate contracts.
  • Provide effective supervision of assigned staff to service those contracts.
  • Train and coach assigned staff and new team members.
  • Work with Assistant Director of Operations and the Catholic Charities of Oregon (CCO) Finance Department to reconcile fund disbursements.
  • Provide reports for internal and external contracts as required by contract.
  • Respond to program inquiries, conduct intakes, and assess eligibility of clients, including Spanish speaking clients, for program services.
  • Oversee and coordinate team delivering emergency assistance for eligible clients by communicating with clients and vendors, collect and complete necessary paperwork/vouchers, submit requests to CCO Finance Department, and follow-up with clients as necessary. Assist in intake process when required due to the client load.
  • Provide effective financial coaching and case management for clients as needed.
  • Provide information and referral navigation as needed.
  • Organize outreach events or opportunities to inform the community of our services and assist with program and team events as needed.
  • Serve as a secondary point of contact for a group of volunteer coaches, providing resources and answering questions as needed.
  • Assist in grant writing as opportunities arise and when needed by the Executive Director and the Development Team.
  • Participate in trainings and coordination meetings as requested by Executive Director.
  • Adherence to Catholic Charities policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work / lived experience in social science, business or finance related field required.
  • 2-4 years' experience working with/educating low to moderate income people and high need client populations required.
  • 1-2 years' experience in program development and oversight.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervision of staff showing increase in supervisory experience and number of people supervised.
  • Demonstrated relevant work experience in program management with supervisory experience, preferably in a non-profit or social services agency.
  • Degree in Business, Social Work, or related field preferred.
  • Salesforce experience required.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus but not required.
  • Able to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, follow through, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with standard office software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Publisher).
  • Willingness to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities.
  • Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well in team setting, as well as independently; be flexible and adapt well to different dynamics in a fast-paced work environment.
  • High attention to detail required.
  • Demonstrated judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential matters.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, which could include some evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to support organizational and program specific mission and goals.
  • Commitment to Catholic Charities mission to work in partnership with vulnerable populations to achieve lasting solutions to poverty and injustice.
  • Must demonstrate some degree of cultural competency (possess a working understanding of diverse cultures).
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Travel between sites in Portland required. Must have driver's license, access to vehicle and ability to obtain automobile insurance at levels required by agency (100/300/100).
  • Satisfactory results from criminal, civil and/or motor vehicle background check required.
