The Development Coordinator is responsible for overseeing NOFA-VT’s sponsorship program as well as providing support to the Development & Engagement Director and other Program staff with grant writing, research, and management. The Development Coordinator reports to the Development & Engagement Director. 

Summary Description 

The two primary responsibilities of the Development Coordinator are 1) managing sponsorship systems for the Winter Conference and Share the Harvest events for NOFA-VT, as well as other organizational sponsorship opportunities, and 2) supporting the grant writing needs of the organization, including researching new opportunities and writing grant inquiries, working collaboratively with program staff on grant proposals and reporting, tracking grant timelines, and coordinating documents relating to applications and reporting.

Specific responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify, solicit, attain, and track sponsorships for the Winter Conference, Share the Harvest, and other organizational sponsorship opportunities.
  • Work with the Development & Engagement Director and other key program staff to ensure sponsorship opportunities and benefits meet needs of programs.
  • Steward sponsors, maintain accurate and updated files of correspondence and track sponsors’ status and benefits. Work with other staff to ensure benefits are fulfilled on time.
  • Research, develop, and write inquiries, letters, proposals/applications, and other documents relating to grants. Potential sources of funding include corporations, foundations, individuals, and government entities.
  • Work with staff members as needed to acquire necessary information and materials for preparing grants, and in many cases collaboratively develop proposals.
  • Work with the Development & Engagement Director to track deadlines for and coordinate grant reporting with staff.
  • Follow and manage the annual grant calendar, updating as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and updated files of correspondence, proposals, reports, and notes on significant phone conversations or meetings relating to all grants. 
  • Provide support as needed on other fundraising projects throughout the year including the spring and fall appeals, membership drives, etc.
  • Occasionally work evenings or weekend special events which may require travel and other duties as assigned. 
  • Attend bi-weekly staff meetings and actively participate in NOFA-VT team events (such as the Winter Conference and Summer On-Farm Workshops), professional development opportunities, and joint staff and board meetings.  

Qualifications

The Development Coordinator possesses a background in fundraising and development. Must have strong written and oral communications skills, a creative, energetic attitude, high attention to detail with strong analytical and organizational skills, and the ability to balance many projects. Advanced experience with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office Suite is necessary. The position will be likely be a hybrid position with some days working from home and some days working from NOFA-VT's office in Richmond. Currently NOFA-VT is working primarily remotely. 

Compensation

This is a coordinator level position, falling into NOFA-VT’s program staff pay band of $21.71 - $28.06. NOFA-VT offers competitive benefits, paid time off, a flexible work schedule, and more. As a part-time position, the position is not currently eligible for health benefits.
