Position Summary :

CPPP seeks an Austin-based External Relations Coordinator to coordinate and provide logistical support to staff around external relations opportunities to advance CPPP’s policy, communications and fundraising goals. This new position will make sure CPPP staff have the support they need to give presentations and connect with donors, partners, public officials, media and other influential Texans.

The External Relations Coordinator will report to the Director of Communications and will work closely with the External Relations Team.

Roles and responsibilities :

● Provide logistical support to staff in identifying, strategizing, and coordinating external relations opportunities.

● Serve as key liaison and support for staff members around external relations opportunities.

● Schedule, coordinate agendas, take notes, and coordinate follow up for regular External Relations Team meetings.

● Manage database of external contacts.

● Provide administrative support for the CEO’s external relations activities.

● Develop knowledge of state and local events, networks and presentation opportunities.

● Train colleagues on external relations procedures.

● Prepare materials for staff to bring to their external relations opportunities.

● Assist with promotional materials, including email alerts and social media posts.

● Other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications :

● Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of professional, academic or other relevant experience. A college degree is not required if the candidate has applicable experience

● Strong experience using information technology, database management and social media

● Sharp organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under time constraints

● Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team

● Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and adaptable, and to work independently

● Ability to communicate with people of varied economic, racial, ethnic, and gender backgrounds

● A demonstrated commitment to CPPP’s vision and mission

Compensation:

The approximate salary range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000 per year, commensurate with experience. The Center offers excellent benefits, including health insurance, dental insurance, life and
