    We are looking for a Program Coordinator (PC) in Long Beach! The PC works in partnership with youth (ages 12 – 24) to organize, empower and mobilize youth and their communities to win real improvements for the Los Angeles County young people, specifically in supporting community-led tobacco prevention efforts.

    CURRENT CAMPAIGN

    This current public health campaign role will be leading Tobacco Prevention efforts. We are collaborating with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health on restricting access, messaging and shifting community norms, specifically through tobacco retail licensing efforts, in Santa Monica and Gardena. This role will be crucial in carrying out the following tasks:

    • Conducting key informant interviews
    • Engaging with key community stakeholders and residents through outreach
    • Holding 1:1 meetings
    • Delivering educational presentations
    • Coordinating and facilitating local coalition meetings for youth and adults
    • Developing educational materials and information packets
    • Providing public testimony

    We are looking for candidates with:

    • 2-3 years relevant experience in the field of youth development, and/or a B.A.
    • Commitment to social justice, public health, and community organizing as strategies to affect change
    • Experience facilitating youth-driven campaigns or projects
    • Excellent follow-through skills; detail-oriented, organized, professional
    • Experience with community based research or assessment
    • Able to work some evenings and weekends
    • Access to a personal vehicle and clean driving record is required

    This position requires in-person work in the Long Beach office or in the community 4 days per week, with the option to work remotely on the 5th day.

    This is a full-time hourly (non-exempt) position with a rate of $25/hour. Compensation includes yli’s generous benefits package:
