The F&A Analyst will support the Finance team in managing the organization’s day-to-day financial operations. Key responsibilities include performing continuous financial and variance analysis of Green Dot’s financials. Meeting with school business managers on a regular basis to build school budgets. The Financial Analyst will analyze actual versus budgeted performance and develop detailed financial models to support a variety of strategic initiatives. In addition, the financial analyst will provide leverage and analytical support to the Finance Team.
> Work with the Finance team to execute organization-wide financial strategy
> Develop a deep understanding of the organizations funding models, revenue and expense drivers, and optimization opportunities
> Assist the Finance Team in developing monthly, quarterly and annual Board presentations.
> Analyze key components of the organization’s business (e.g., facilities, programs, operational areas) and real estate financing (e.g. loans, bonds, leases, etc.)
> Develop and execute dashboards that highlight monthly, quarterly and annual financial performance and actionable items
> Responsible for managing and implementing a wide variety of strategic planning projects by working with multiple departments aimed at improving organizational efficiency and seeking creative solutions to some of the organization’s most challenging issues
> Develop detailed and interactive multiyear projection models consisting of Income Statements, Balance Sheets and Cash Flows on an individual school as well as organization-wide level, used to build annual budgets and forecasts
> Become an expert in State and Federal Education funding sources
> Work with School administrators and business managers to prepare school budgets, forecasts and multiyear projections on a bottoms-up assumption basis
> Evaluates the costs, benefits, and risks of programs, and projects
This job operates in a professional office environment, is largely sedentary, and utilizes typical office equipment (computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.). Normal business hours are 8:30am – 5:30pm, Monday-Friday (although these hours may vary and may require occasional evening and weekend work based on organizational needs). Minimal or no travel required, other than visits to local school sites (as needed).
> Bachelor’s degree required
> A minimum of 1-3 years of work experience in Finance or Statistics
> Demonstrated skill and comfort in building financial models and extracting actionable data
> Creative and thoughtful about how to manage financial behavior
> Ability to maintain positive relations with colleagues at all levels—including central office staff and school-site administrators and staff
> Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects while maintaining a firm grasp of individual project details
> High level of personal responsibility and drive towards ambitious goals
> Strong sense of integrity, ethics, and drive to achieve and grow
