House Manager

Ronald McDonald House of Central and Northern NJ (RMHCNJ) provides accommodations for families of children receiving treatment for serious illnesses at hospitals in central and northern NJ. The New Brunswick House has six guest rooms and is located adjacent to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Saint Peters Children’s Hospital, and RWJ Barnabas Children’s Specialized Hospital. The House Manager is a full-time, exempt, salaried employee (approximate hours are 10:00am – 6:00pm). This House Manager provides overall leadership of the House, guest services, staff supervision, facility management, and volunteer and community relations. The House Manager is expected to advance the mission of RMHCNJ and serves as a positive ambassador for the organization. This position reports to the Operations Director.

Guest Services

·        Provide a warm and welcoming environment for guest families.

·        Serve as the primary contact for hospital personnel regarding referrals and guest family updates.

·        Oversee scheduling including reservation list management, check-in, and check-out.

·        Enforce House rules including COVID-19 policies and procedures.

 

Staff Supervision and Administrative Functions

 

·        Supervise all House employees and ensure House coverage including weekends, holidays and vacations.

·        Track daily, weekly, and monthly guest statistics and provide reports on guest statistics and trends.

·        Manage budget items and petty cash.

·        Willingness and ability to work nights, overnights, and weekends as needed.

Facility Management

·        Maintain a safe, comfortable and attractive House environment.

·        Maintain emergency procedures and vendor manuals.

·        Maintain adequate inventories of supplies and items for the House.

Volunteer and Community Relations

·        Supervise volunteer services including corporate groups, guest chefs, and other volunteer programs.

·        Assist with grant opportunities, fundraising, and special events.

Preferred Experience

·        Bachelor’s degree, 5+ years of nonprofit, programs or hospitality experience, 1+ year of supervisory experience

·        Experience working with Microsoft Office and database systems

·        Ability to multi-task and manage several ongoing projects and works independently and as part of a team
