Heyday is hiring a finance and operations manager, who will be responsible for financial reporting, bookkeeping, and office/HR management. This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly, creative organization with deep roots in the Bay Area and a widely respected reputation.

The manager is expected to demonstrate strong critical thinking and prioritize time effectively according to the needs of the company. The ideal candidate has experience with QuickBooks and knowledge of nonprofit accounting and GAAP. Based in Berkeley, this full-time position will report to Heyday’s executive director. The working hours are flexible and some work from home is possible.


Duties


Financial Management and Reporting – 75%

·      Manage all accounting functions including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, employee expense reimbursements, bank reconciliations, monthly work-in-progress recognition, and release of funds for restricted use.

·      Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner, clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements, and oversee all financial and project/program accounting.

·      Coordinate the annual audit and be point person for external auditors.

·      Assist in annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the executive director.

·      Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters to the board of directors.


Human Resources and Administration – 25%

·      Administer company benefit programs, including health benefits, 401k, vacation time accounting, and FMLA claims.

·      Onboard new employees and maintain personnel files.

·      Oversee administrative functions and office facilities to ensure efficient and consistent operations, including ordering office supplies.


Intended start date: Immediately. Heyday benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, and a savings 401(k) plan. Salary dependent on skill set and experience. Range is available upon request.
