Primary Teacher / PAID POSITION

Mayatan Bilingual School in Copán Ruinas, Honduras is seeking native English-speaking primary and secondary school teachers for the upcoming school year (August 2021-June 2022).

Given the current situation with regards to travel restrictions plus the fact that the school year seems very likely to begin with most (or all) classes being taught online, we are looking for flexible teachers to form part of our team.

We have a 3-phase plan to initially offer classes online, moving through a second phase of a combination of online plus a limited number of socially distanced classroom-based classes before moving back to the traditional 100% face-to-face.

Ideal candidates are independent, self-guided, self-reliant individuals who are passionate about teaching and working in the local community, capable of making the best of limited resources and adapting to circumstances, and want to gain international experience. This is a full-time professional teaching position.

We are seeking certified (or soon to be certified) teachers who are native speakers of English. International travel, work experience and Spanish language skills are a plus, but not requirements for the position. All teachers will be provided with housing, transportation to and from the school, residency/permission renewal, health insurance and a monthly stipend.
