LOCATION: Washington, DC (Remote considered, but you must be able to get to DC for a full day twice a month, minimum)

COMPENSATION: $37,500-$45,000, plus 100% employer paid health, paid vacation and sick leave, retirement account with employer match, vision and dental insurance premium and 80% reimbursement on cell phone bill

The Power Shift Network (PSN) mobilizes the collective power of young people to mitigate climate change and create a just, clean energy-powered future and resilient, thriving communities for all. Power Shift Network has historically been referred to as the “hub of the youth climate movement”—and brought together groups of environmental organizations to strengthen and empower youth-led organizing for just solutions to the climate crisis. Today, we continue this important work with a new, more agile, and responsive model that creates space for young people and others committed to building a stronger grassroots movement for climate justice that is aligned with larger national movements for social justice.


About the position:

PSN is looking for a logistics wiz to streamline our data systems and help us build out our grassroots fundraising base to continue to build the youth climate movement. An ideal candidate will come to us with experience with youth/student activism, a background of managing logistics and a love for spreadsheets.


Job Activities & Responsibilities:

Network Tracking & Engagement - 40%

  • Manage data tracking practices, regularly work to ensure that network data is captured and stored appropriately
  • Assist with member annual meeting planning such as managing meeting logistics
  • Support committees, action teams and support teams as needed
  • Provide support to individual network members when appropriate
  • Communicate with partners regarding Network meetings and votes
  • Represent Power Shift Network in regional and national coalitions, at regional and national events and to the general public, as needed. This can include attending conferences and convenings of other organizations, networks and coalitions, and participating in other formations’ working groups
  • Support the planning and execution of events, as needed


Fundraising - 30%

  • Support the preparation of grant proposal and report budgets and requests in collaboration with the Executive Director, Operations Director and Development Officer/Consultants
  • Support fundraising efforts, including the growth of Power Shift Network’s individual donor base and assisting in development of foundation grant writing
  • Maintain contributor database and ensure prompt acknowledgement of donations are completed
  • Prepare donation acknowledgement letters
  • Ensures that donor cultivation and engagement processes follow PSN’s donor ladder of engagement
  • Support board, staff and network members with grassroots fundraising initiatives
  • Record Grant requirements and deadlines into our CRM

Finance - 20 %

  • Support accounts payable management, maintaining diligent records
  • Supports bookkeeping and financial management
  • Support audit and 990 preparation


Staff Support - 10%

  • Support staff hiring, onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for retreats & other events
  • Coordinate travel for staff, board and network members as needed
  • Manage Digital File sharing infrastructure



Knowledge & Skills:


➔ Bachelor's degree or equivalent required plus 1-3 years paid or unpaid experience in non-profit administration/management

➔ Self-starter, highly motivated, resourceful, flexible, organized and strong attention to detail

➔Firm understanding of nonprofit accounting policies and procedures

➔Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

➔Superb organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities

➔Experience as an activist and organizer in the climate movement and/or social justice work desired but not required.

➔Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with specific timelines

➔Versatility, flexibility, and an ability to shift and manage priorities under increasingly complex sets of demands

➔Strong computer aptitude, including expertise in Microsoft Office (especially excel) and Google Docs

➔Strong analytical skills with particular attention to detail and accuracy
