    Position: Office Administrator

    Bright Water Waldorf School is seeking an energetic, collaborative, and warm-hearted office administrator, committed to the ideals of Waldorf education, who would like to join a vibrant Waldorf community.     Bright Water Waldorf School is an independent school serving students Pre-K to 8th grade with a developmentally appropriate, multidisciplinary, experiential, and academically rigorous education that cultivates students’ heads, hands, and hearts. Our home is within the Japanese Cultural Community Center of Washington in Seattle’s Chinatown International District neighborhood.     Job Duties:

    • Front line of the office, answering the phone, door, and addressing student issues as they arise
    • Assist in the planning and implementation of BWWS community, fundraising, and curricular events and festivals
    • Managing vendors, such as school and janitorial supplies
    • Providing additional adult supervision during recess
    • Proactively bringing concerns that impact the well-being of the school, including safety, viability, and professionalism to the College of Teachers, Board of Trustees, and/or Staff as applicable and appropriate to advance solutions.

    Required Experience:

    • 2 years of relevant work, volunteer or lived experience
    • Desired Skills and Experience:
    • Experience working in a fast paced customer centered environment.
    • Experience working within a team to achieve results.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with an ability to communicate information clearly and firmly while building trust and demonstrating care for the community, individuals, and diverse perspectives.
    • Strong organizational skills, building processes that are clear, easy to use and provide transparency.
    • Knowledge or experience with Google Suite, Excel, Zoom, BigSIS, and basic office equipment, and use of various social media channels as an administrator for organizational group page(s) and/or profile(s)

    Location: On campus at Bright Water Waldorf School, 1414 S Weller Street, Seattle, WA 98144.

    (Located within the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Washington)

    Hours: This is an hourly position, 20 hours/week, 10 am-2 pm

    Compensation: Starting at $23.47 depending on experience, salary scale for transparency

    Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: Able to manage 50 pounds - lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping and squatting. (Moving boxes, etc.)
