What started as a small group of families gathered around a kitchen table in 1979 has blossomed into the nation’s leading voice on mental health. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.  

Today, we are an alliance of hundreds of local affiliates, state organizations and a national office who work in communities across the United States to raise awareness and provide support and education that was not previously available to those in need. NAMI advocates for all who are affected by mental illness, both the individuals and the people in their lives. In particular, we work to address disparities and injustices and to promote dignity and inclusion for all people with mental illness and their families. In addition to being advocates, we educate, we listen, and we lead as evidenced by our public awareness campaigns, the range of numerous programs we provide, and our strong public policy.  

We currently have an opening for a Coordinator, National Education Programs. The Coordinator supports the national roll out of program training using online and in-person facilitation methods, in addition to administrative functions that enable the development and delivery of professional, effective, and life-changing information, support and educational offerings.

This position is based in Arlington, VA (currently remote due to COVID).  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

·        Schedule and support online events that involves coordination with field offices and program leaders

·        Provide logistics support for the online and in-person training of trainers events

·        Provide technical assistance to the team and the field around online and in-person training enrollment and access

·        Work with manager to implement enhancement and change requests that impact our online trainings, including tracking & prioritizing backlog requests

·        Maintain online program materials on NAMI’s intranet and extranet sites as directed by manager

·        Maintain and update technical and troubleshooting resources for NAMI state and affiliate leaders in relation to online training delivery

·        Provide technical support to, and draft electronic communications for, NAMI state and affiliate leaders in relation to programs to ensure alignment with other teams as needed

·        Perform general administrative duties such as uploading program materials to the NAMI website, formatting program materials, maintaining email lists, managing content management access, etc.

·        Act as the customer service face of the department in-person, via email and answering calls to make triage decisions for follow up

·        Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

·        Spanish-language skills highly preferred

·        Bachelor’s degree preferred

·        1-2 years’ experience with similar responsibilities

·        Experience with online learning systems preferred

·        Customer service experience preferred

·        Strong written and verbal communication skills

·        Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

·        Familiarity with Smartsheet and Adobe products, specifically Adobe Connect and Adobe Acrobat Pro highly valued

Work Conditions & Physical Demands: 

Essential functions are performed in a general office setting with low noise. Job demands may require long periods of sitting; telephone work and/or computer work, as well as interactions with other team members and external stakeholders.
