For more than 50 years LAF has provided people living in poverty in metropolitan Chicago with comprehensive free legal services to resolve non-criminal issues. Each year LAF’s attorneys, volunteers, and staff help resolve legal problems, including domestic violence, consumer fraud, and unfair evictions. Our work impacts about 30,000 people each year. In addition to representing individuals in court and administrative hearings, we run community legal clinics, provide know-your-rights workshops, and work with community-based organizations to address emerging issues as well as persistent problems that affect low-income families.

Position: A VISTA serving as the Program Evaluation Coordinator will help to expand LAF's capacity to offer legal services to those living in Chicago and suburban Cook County. The Program Evaluation Coordinator VISTA will enhance LAF’s ability to collect and measure the work our staff members do, and expand our capacity to evaluate our program’s case management.

Responsibilities: Gain familiarity with LAF’s works groups, case work, reports and reporting processes; research other civil legal aid program’s data analysis and program evaluation processes; identify and modify case reports we use to collect data about case work; assist staff members in initial data analysis by creating, and obtaining feedback about, case work reports and time records reports; create graphs or other visuals to present data efficiently and effectively.
