YWCA Brooklyn is expanding the scope and reach of its community programs and is seeking to fill several new positions to support the organization’s recent growth. YWCA Brooklyn’s mission is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace justice freedom and dignity for all. The organization is Brooklyn’s largest and oldest nonprofit serving women and girls. YWCA Brooklyn furthers its mission by providing 300 units of safe, affordable housing for low-income women, most of whom are survivors of gender-based violence; a college access and leadership program serving 400 low-income girls of color; education and legal assistance for immigrant women; and a community center that is a nexus for over 100 progressive grassroots organizations.

To assure academic, economic and personal success, the program offers leadership development, civic engagement, career exploration and family support. The Director is also responsible for the design and implementation of program components, outcome evaluation, data management, contracts, and funder reports. This position supervises the College Advisor, College Persistence Coordinator, Program Social Workers, Academic Tutors as well as other program staff.
