Position Summary

ScholarMatch is seeking a full-time, non-exempt Volunteer Program Coordinator to play an important role in our growing non-profit. This position reports to the Manager of the Destination College Volunteer Program and plays an important part in the Destination College team. Destination College provides robust college and financial aid services to high school students, both in-person at our college centers in Los Angeles and San Francisco, as well as remotely to students in other areas.

 

The ideal candidate has a passion for our mission, the skill-set to work with both volunteers and students, and an eagerness to bridge these communities together with ScholarMatch as we strive to foster a just, equitable, prosperous future for all.


 Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop communication templates for local and national recruitment 
  • Develop language related to communication and outreach that goes to volunteers and students related to CollegePoint projects and evaluation
  • Collaborate with the Communications and Marketing Manager to design and develop  volunteer facing collateral and marketing materials
  • Facilitate and lead 
  • Review training module waiver submissions, respond and follow up to waiver inquiries
  • Manage a College Coach caseload and provide robust support navigating the college admissions process via email and phone
  • Assist with the coach and student matching process using set data and metrics
  • Moderate an online community of College Coaches via Facebook and a Listserv 
  • Give insight to and support with the development of training modules including supporting with revamping content, materials, and assignments for volunteers
  • Assist with the implementation of  the coach retention protocol
  • Assist and support in the planning, implementation and delivery of college coach trainings throughout the year, including facilitating webinars 
  • Participate in the CollegePoint Ambassador program and committee and implement project related tasks
  • Attend weekly CollegePoint 1:1 and working sessions, as needed; attend yearly CollegePoint kick off and mid-year convenings 


Supporting responsibilities

  • Support with volunteer program development related to outreach and recruitment strategies
  • Support with volunteer program development related to coach training and development including reviewing and grading training module submissions 
  • Support with the yearly coach recruitment process through national and local outreach
  • Support with the review and tracking of volunteer interest forms
  • Support with identifying and building strategic partnerships to develop a robust diverse pool of volunteers through national and local recruitment channels and identify new recruitment opportunities
  • Support with the development of coach newsletter content
  • Support with the scheduling and data entry process for volunteer program operations as needed
  • Support with volunteer program development related to coach training and development including reviewing and grading training module submissions 
  • Support in the implementation and delivery of college coach trainings throughout the year 
  • Support the coach retention strategy and offboarding process by providing insight on coach experience
  • Support with CollegePoint Initiative projects/evaluation studies such as advisor related studies, technology grants, and financial incentives
  • Support with the scholarship application and interview process
  • Willingly collaborate with other team members to assist with special projects as needed
  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned, “all hands-on deck” mindset

Salary

$45,676 - $65,228Starting salary is commensurate with experience, regional location, and is based on a competitive public interest salary scale.
