Description

Intro/Program Description: Goddard Riverside Community Center operates four early childhood centers for working families and their children aged 2 ½ to 5. Each center facilitates classroom activities that promote intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth.


Purpose of Position: The Bookkeeper is responsible for financial and administrative support to the center.


Role, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties


1) Financial and Program Services

  • Greet and refer visitors to the center; answer phones
  • Assist parents with enrollment documentation, as well as with other questions and problems
  • Collect parent fees and oversee balance due ledger
  • Oversee petty cash
  • Record and monitor children’s attendance
  • Data entry; maintain student records in ACS and DOE databases


2) Office Management

  • Monitor office equipment; report and follow up on any repairs needed
  • Monitor office supplies and order as needed
  • Oversee condition of offices and school; request repairs as needed and coordinate repairs and maintenance with Custodian


3) Personnel

  • Track attendance for all program staff; record attendance and calculate leave time balances
  • Serve as liaison with GRCC payroll office on new hires, terminations and other payroll issues
  • Monitor salary increments due to staff under the collective bargaining agreement, and prepare payroll action forms


4) Serve as member of the day care team

  • Participate in staff meetings, supervisory meetings, conferences and parent meetings; assist in program planning and evaluation as part of a team; provide classroom coverage when needed


5) Other duties as required

 

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Some college required
  • Experience working with data (Microsoft Excel)
  • Office or administration experience a plus

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be:

  • Experience with database software (ETO specific experience a plus)
  • Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel) and web-based applications
