826 Valencia is seeking adventurous crew members to greet and welcome all who seek premium exploring supplies and/or tutoring and writing services. Stores Associates sell 826 products and publications, as well as provide a transformative, memorable experience to a diverse population of community members and travelers alike.

To excel as a purveyor of 826 supplies, one must possess humor and grace in balancing simultaneous demands. Stores Associates serve as the front-of-house reception for all three store locations/writing centers, provide occasional programs support in special circumstances, and complete marketing and design projects for displays, products, and online campaigns. Crew members are expected to stay reasonably informed of organizational events and services in order to field inquiries and requests from all. Stores staff greet everyone warmly and engage anyone who enters our storefronts as a potential parent, student, volunteer, donor, or advocate for 826 Valencia.

Who We Are

826 Valencia is an award-winning nonprofit dedicated to supporting under-resourced students ages six to eighteen with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. Our innovative model has inspired more than 40 like-minded organizations world-wide. We have three stores, one at each of our centers, each with a unique theme. Our Mission location is the Pirate Supply Store (where local buccaneers can buy wares), our Tenderloin location is King Carl’s Emporium (run by a royal, traveling puffer fish), and our Mission Bay location is Woodland Creatures Outfitters (a forest environment where fairies and unicorns abound.)
