Description

The Director for Operations and Student Services is directly responsible for the comprehensive oversight of CPRL's internal program operations, student recruitment and admissions, student support, grants management, and budgets. The Director of Operations and Student Support reports to the CPRL's Managing Director. 


The mission of the Center for Public Research and Leadership (CPRL) is to reimagine organizational learning at all levels and across all boundaries to prepare leaders to transform the nation's schools and the life chances of all our children. The CPRL program brings together upper-level graduate students in business, education, law, and policy from universities across the nation to study and engage in consulting projects serving public- and social-sector organizations undertaking and supporting transformational change in P-16 education and in the public sector as a whole. CPRL offers graduate students the rigorous academic and experiential preparation they need to flourish in exciting leadership and professional positions in those same organizations while simultaneously offering organizations high-quality, affordable consulting support. 


The Director for Operations and Student Services will directly oversee the CPRL Operations Manager and will divide his or her time across the following areas of center activity: 


-Recruitment and Student Support 

Responsible for all aspects of prospective student recruitment, selection, and enrollment at CPRL 

Serve as the primary liaison for current and prospective students 

Design and oversee CPRL's Student Information System (SIS) database Develop and execute a strategic marketing and recruitment plan, including differentiated strategies for different disciplines 

Lead student selection process: read, evaluate applications, and interview students; plan and lead admissions and scholar award decision-making process 

Analyze and report on recruitment, selection, and enrollment statistics 

Engage with CLS faculty and staff to coordinate integration of CPRL recruitment with other experiential learning program recruitment 

Manage relationships with CPRL's 21+ partner professional schools across the country 

Develop and implement strategic plan for recruitment of new partner school relationships 

Oversee comprehensive academic administration for partner school relationships including managing variations in earned course credits, admitting and enrolling students, and overseeing all fiscal transactions between institutions Student Support 

Oversee the transfer process of scholarship funds to partner schools/students 

Oversee enrollment and onboarding of students at CPRL 


-Supervise CPRL's Student Leadership Council Fiscal and Grants Management 

Fiscal Management 

Create and implement comprehensive financial reporting systems 

Monitor day-to-day program expenditures against budget; run reports in the university's Accounting and Reporting at Columbia (ARC) system 

Oversee preparation of all client contracts, and other agreements 

Oversee CPRL's invoicing process 

Grants Management 

Create budgets and budget narratives for CPRL's portfolio of grant proposals 

Prepare fiscal templates for interim and final grant reports and garner University approvals for submission 

Ensure fiscal compliance with sponsor regulations for all CPRL's active grants 

Create and implement grants training for CPRL staff 


-Program Operations 

Comprehensive administrative oversight of CPRL's program operations 

Oversee the process for all Center contracts, agreements, and vendor applications 

Oversee seamless operational support to CPRL staff, students, classes and projects 


Plan agendas and facilitate Operations Team meetings 

Oversee outreach for on campus special events including guest lecturers, fundraising events, panel discussions, and networking events
