Description

The Centering Regional Director (RD) is a full-time mission critical position responsible for driving the expansion of the Centering model at healthcare practices within a multi-state region through exceptional customer service and engagement with key regional stakeholders in the provider and payer communities. The RD is an expert in Centering implementation processes and understands how to support sites through the challenges associated with startup and system change. They focus on building relationships and providing technical expertise. They are equally comfortable interacting with healthcare providers and administrators, payers, community stakeholders, and organizational leadership across a wide range of government, insurance and clinical practice settings. They can speak knowledgeably and authoritatively on the value of Centering to each constituent group and serve as a go-to resource for implementation support. The RD is responsible for monitoring key performance measures and meeting regional performance goals.


Supervision

The Regional Director is supervised by the Senior Director of Strategy and Partnerships


Reporting

  • Regional Director will directly supervise two State Managers


Responsibilities

New Practice Engagement & Development

  • Identify and reach out to potential practices to educate leadership, administrators, and providers about the value of the Centering model
  • Work in close collaboration with Centering sites to identify regional funders and funding opportunities to help support the startup costs of implementation and training
  • Collaborate with the other Regional Director and the Sr. Director of Strategy & Partnerships to identify regional opportunities and problem solve challenges

Centering Technical Assistance / Implementation Support

  • Provide consultation and technical assistance to practice sites on system change, and Centering practice sustainability
  • Provide technical assistance to support the growth and sustainability of existing Centering practices and expansion of Centering to new practice locations, patient populations, and visit types in collaboration with CHI’s key regional partner

Payer and Stakeholder Development

  • Engage with key stakeholders such as, healthcare providers and administrators, payers, community stakeholders, and organizational leadership across a wide range of government, insurance and clinical practice settings
  • Educate stakeholders about the value of Centering, how it helps providers and payers meet key quality measures, how Centering fits into alternative payment models, and what payers in other states are doing

Management of State-Based Centering Staff

  • Provide leadership and day-to-day management of several state-based Centering personnel working within their multi-state region
  • Establish overall performance objectives and set specific expectations parameters, performance metrics, and quality outcomes for direct reports to ensure that larger regional goals are achieved

Administration & Other Activities

  • The RD may also be called upon to participate in special projects and perform other administrative duties as required

Travel

  • Travel is an important component of this position. The RD spends a great deal of time in the field meeting with potential practices, supporting practices that are implementing Centering, meeting with payers and community stakeholders, and attending community events
  • There will also be regular opportunities to travel to other states within the region to support local staff there. Occasional travel to the Boston office will also be necessary

Experience, Skills & Attributes

  • Passionate about improving the U.S healthcare delivery system, in particular the patient experience of healthcare, health outcomes, and health equity
  • Highly motivated self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Intelligent and articulate, skilled at presenting ideas and concepts
  • Comfortable speaking with organizational leaders, physicians, government agency heads
  • Minimum five to seven years health system experience or comparable
  • Proven skills in leadership, relationship development, collaboration and team building
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks at once, respond to tight timelines, pay attention to detail, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people
  • Excellent communication skills (listening, speaking and writing)
  • Access to a personal vehicle
  • Bachelor’s degree, postgraduate degree a plus but not required.
  • Direct experience with Centering a plus
  • Familiarity with the clinical setting and healthcare payment infrastructure a plus
  • Bilingual/bicultural background highly desirable
