Crisis Advocate

WOAR is one of the nation’s first rape crisis centers. WOAR provides an array of services to support people who have experienced sexual assault or sexual violence.

Under the direct supervision of the 24hr Services Manager, the Crisis Advocate provides rape crisis center services to survivors of sexual violence. The Crisis Advocate is expected to maintain coordination between Special Victims Unit Police Department (SVU), Philadelphia Sexual Assault Response Center (PSARC), and WOAR. This WOAR position will be located mostly on-site within SVU/PSARC and requires strong interpersonal skills. The Crisis Advocate must also have accurate data entry experience.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree required. Majors including Criminal Justice, Forensic Psychology, Criminology, Psychology, Social Work
• Must complete state mandated forty (40) hour victim service training
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent writing and speaking skills
• Computer competency in Microsoft Office
• Strategic thinker
• Problem solving and strong analytical skills
• Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to function as team member of a unit and the agency as a whole
• Must have schedule flexibility
• Some in-state travel required
• PA 33/34 certifiable and FBI certifiable
• Must adhere to professional ethics and agency confidentiality policy
• Philosophical orientation compatible with WOAR's philosophy and mission
