Partnership to End Addiction is a national nonprofit uniquely positioned to reach, engage and help families impacted by addiction. With decades of experience in research, direct service, communications and partnership-building, we provide families with personalized support and resources — while mobilizing policymakers, researchers and health care professionals to better address addiction systemically on a national scale. For more information, visit www.drugfree.org.

We are seeking a full-time Research Associate to join a small research team that develops and tests digital interventions to improve outcomes for individuals and family members attempting to overcome addiction. This project is in the final years of a 5-6-year grant. The Research Associate will primarily be responsible for coordinating follow-up assessments, data cleaning, coordination with the analytic team, and paper writing.

Specific duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating all aspects of an NIH-funded research study which developed an SMS intervention for alcohol use
  • Ensuring assessment completion timeline is met for participants
  • Coordinating communication with research team at Northwell and consultants
  • Conducting literature reviews
  • Helping integrate the text messaging program into our direct services, including writing new messages and creating new messaging programs
  • Assisting with data cleaning and analysis
  • Coordinating with the IRB and DSMB
  • Co-authoring narrative and research reports and conference presentations on study findings.

Qualifications include:

  • Master’s degree in psychology, public health or a related field; or Bachelor’s in psychology, public health or a related field, and 2+ years of relevant work experience, resulting in ability to demonstrate advanced research methods and/or data analysis knowledge and skill
  • Relevant research experience, including project coordination experience
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Ability to work as part of a cohesive team, but also to exercise independent judgment when needed to achieve goals
  • Data analysis experience required, preferably using R or SPSS

Note: We are temporarily teleworking during the COVID-19 pandemic. When we return to in-office work, the Research Associate would work in our NYC office.
