Synopsis:

La Clínica Del Pueblo (LCDP), a Federally Qualified Health Center in Washington DC and Maryland, is looking to hire an individual who is well organized and detail oriented. LCDP has a growing Accounting & Finance department and needs assistance financial management of over sixty contract and grants. The grant accountant would develop budgets, assist programs with spending plans, assist with audits and reporting, and accuracy of entries into accounting software.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Grants and Contracts:

  • Create invoices in excel/accounting software on a monthly or quarterly basis
  • Upload invoices to funder portals
  • Communicate with funders and outside agencies regarding grants and contracts
  • Create journal entries
  • Assist Finance Manager in project management of grants and contracts
  • Assist Finance Manager with creating grant budgets and budget modifications
  • Upload and maintain grant/contract budgets in accounting software
  • Provide support Finance Manager and Grant Accountant as needed
  • Collaborate with grants and contracts team in onboarding new grant/contract prospects, and provide documentation for funder reporting requirements
  • Assist with annual budget
  • Assist with annual financial audit
  • Assist with federal reporting requirements (FFRs)
  • Assist in implementation of new accounting modules
  • Create grant dashboard in accounting software

 Other Essential Functions:

  • Prepare reclassification journal entries as needed
  • Prepare financial audit reports and reconciliations, as requested. Communicate with auditors regarding prepared documents, explain or justify their content in alignment with GAAP
  • Provide support to CFO as needed
  • Attend trainings and meetings as required by funder

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with one or more years’ experience, required
  • Experience working in a non-profit healthcare system, preferred
  • Prior experience working in EGMS, Payment Management System, EHB, ASAP, preferred
  • Bilingual–English/Spanish, preferred
  • Microsoft Office proficient, required
  • Strong data entry skills, required
  • Professionalism and strong work ethic, required
  • Attention to detail, planning and organizational skills, required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, required

  • Ability to take initiative in seeking answers from leadership, as well as outside agencies
  • Willingness to learn new skills, required
  • Ability to work and exercise independent judgement, required
  • Willing to work in a deadline driven depart, but still participate in a fun team environment
