Summary: Responsible for oversight and overall administration of strategy development, execution and operations related to the Mission’s NOVA outreach ministry. Develop and manage relationships with stakeholders, partners and donors related to these areas.
POSITION TITLE: Mission: Northern Virginia Site Director
REPORTS TO: President & CEO
STATUS: Full-time, Regular
LOCATION: Arlington, VA
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
50% Management
- Manage the Mission: NOVA Center operations to be effective, cost-efficient, purposeful, excellent, and reaching many in need
- Manage day-to-day operations and facility maintenance
- Manage Mission volunteers onsite
- Run the operations of the food and clothing pantry
- Coordinate all of the various service providers participating in the Mission’s space
- Track and report deliverables, benchmarks, and successes of the program
- Maintain a positive relationship with the landlord, local government, and others as assigned
40% Community Relations
- Build partnerships that open doors to additional opportunities to enrich the lives of those in need
- Develop, execute, and evaluate special outreach projects/events
- Recruit people from the community who are in need to join our programs
10% Leadership
- Provide spiritual leadership and a pathway towards spiritual maturity by teaching/modeling Biblical principles
- Evaluate performance and create opportunities for volunteer support
- Evaluate and monitor the progress of Mission: NOVA’s programs
- Model teamwork by supporting other staff of Central Union Mission
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university/college.
- At least 5 years of experience managing a direct service program or related discipline.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish & English.
- Solid knowledge of the agencies that provide social services to people living in Arlington County and surrounding area.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, flexible, organized environment.
- Must be able to communicate effectively
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact with people from a variety of backgrounds.
- A demonstrated passion for ministry, advocacy and issues surrounding homelessness and poverty.
- Strong management and interpersonal skills with ability to sustain good working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Computer literacy using programs such as Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, etc.
- Ability to do some hands-on work with the ability to push, pull, lift 25lbs
- Agreement with and commitment to Central Union Mission’s mission and statement of faith required. Committed Christian and currently active in a local Christian church required.
