Catholic Charities Southwest Ohio is currently accepting applications for a Full Time Director of Mental Health Services. 


The Director of Mental Health Services provides management and ongoing development of clinical and administrative practices in mental health programming. This position will develop and implement policies and procedures related to mental health services to continually improve the level of client care and establish and nurture community relations. As a member of the administrative team, and with support from the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and Director of Quality and Innovation, will develop new referral sources and agency programming. 


This position is required to comply with all agency, State of Ohio, and Council on Accreditation standards/policies. In addition to supervisory responsibilities, at least 5 billable hours per week will be dedicated to direct clinical practice (maintaining an overall utilization rate of 13%).


This position will work out of our Mid Pointe office location (7162 Reading Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45237), normal working schedule is Monday-Friday, exempt, and reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).  


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1.    Supervision Duties

·        Develop and maintain acceptable standards of professional practice through supervision, planning, evaluation, and study of developments and trends in the field of mental health.

·        Provide regular administrative and clinical supervision including annual written performance   evaluations.

·        Insure compliance with agency policies and procedures.

·        Uphold the agency’s mission.


2.    Administrative Duties

·        Preparation/revision of agency program descriptions, promotional materials, etc.

·        Monitor, develop and update mental health programming quality improvement practices; ensure program compliance with licensing regulations, funder expectations, and COA.

·        Prepare and assist with reports, grant applications, program proposals.

·        Work with CFO and COO to develop and meet annual program budget and goals.

·        Provide presentations in community as assigned.

·        Participate in the hiring, orientation, supervision, and coaching of clinical staff.

·        Manage staff by recommending, through evaluation, data and observation, the assignment, promotion, demotion, probation and release of staff. Plan and control staffing levels.


3. Clinical Duties

·        Provide high quality, compassionate and ethical outpatient mental health therapy to clients as scheduled.

·        Complete clinical documentation within expected timeframes.

·        Maintain required billable hours. Work hours must be maintained in a way that is responsive to client needs.

·        Maintain good standing with appropriate boards and insurance entities.

·        Secure client information per HIPPA standards.

·        Maintain case files within electronic health record (EHR) that are up-to-date and completed within expected guidelines.

·        Other duties may be assigned


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Mental Health Therapists, Intake Coordinator/Administrative Assistant, Student Interns, Psychiatric Nurse and Independent Contractors.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

1.      Master’s degree in behavioral health related program from an accredited school with a strong demonstrated interest/experience in management processes.

2.      Independent Licensure with Supervisory Designation required.

3.      Minimum of five (5) years of experience in supervisory/management/administrative capacity.

4.      Demonstrable culturally competence.

5.      Ability to effectively communicate and facilitate group and interpersonal activities.

6.      Knowledge and experience with Ohio’s Behavioral Health Re-Design, managed care, and third party payers such as Medicaid/Medicare.

7.      Strong understanding of Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services rules and regulations.

8.      Knowledge and experience with trauma-informed care.

9.      Knowledge and comfort in the use of electronic health records, word processing, spreadsheet/databases, email and peripherals.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1.      Knowledge and experience in diagnosis and treatment both behavioral health and substance-use disorders.

2.      Fluency in Spanish and/or additional languages other than English


Work Environment:

Typical office environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.


Physical Demands:

Must be able to meet the following physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation:

·        Use hands to manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment;

·        Talk to other employees and clients and hear them;

·        See and be able to read, write, and interpret written documents; and,

·        Occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
