Position Overview

This position develops and manages professional development and network engagement activities through the ACCE Foundation for our association members and the broader chamber of commerce community. Our ideal candidate has experience creating a variety of executive education and peer learning programs as well as crafting valuable resources that support member learning and engagement. Core Responsibilities

  • Create and execute professional development activities, including meetings, educational programming, and other activities. This will include project planning, curriculum development, program execution, volunteer engagement, speaker coordination, meeting facilitation and logistics.
  • Enhance network and member engagement taking a relational approach to managing ACCE peer networks. Connect chamber professionals around common community impact goals, facilitate peer-to-peer learning, and expand the network of engaged chamber professionals in key areas, including education and workforce development, diversity, equity and inclusion, government relations and economic and community development.
  • Develop content and informational resources for the ACCE website, Chamber Executive online magazine, educational programming, webinars, toolkits and newsletters related to community impact activities.
  • Build trusted relationships with ACCE members and partners to reinforce the value of the ACCE Foundation and its resources to chamber executives and to others outside the industry.
  • Provide thought leadership to the chamber industry. Identify, track, and analyze issues and trends relevant to community impact agendas. This includes policy, programs, and public awareness strategies. Identify and highlight examples of best practice both across the industry and beyond the realm of chambers. Digest a wide variety of information relevant to community impact efforts and produce concise, accurate synopses and resources.

Qualifications and Abilities

  • 3 - 5 years of experience organizing and running educational programs and small-group meetings
  • Proven written communication skills (the interview process will include a writing assignment)
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting before and facilitating discussions among senior-level executives, both in person and virtually
  • Experience with and/or curiosity about regional economies and business-civic entities
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and collaboration skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing projects and advance multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Experience working with remote, distributed teams and clients
  • Technology proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite and Zoom; Salesforce experience a plus
  • Ability to comprehend and synthesize information from multiple sources; public policy experience a plus
  • Experience working with associations or other membership organizations a plus
  • Experience working on foundation-funded projects or initiatives a plus
  • Direct experience in one of the ACCE Foundation’s focus areas (education and talent development, economic and community development, government relations, diversity, equity and inclusion) a plus

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near vision, mid-range vision, depth perception, color vision, and ability to change focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to operate a computer including performing actions with repetitive motions. Approximately 80% of time is spent looking at a computer terminal.

Some travel is required.

Compensation

ACCE offers a competitive salary ($50k - $65K) and a host of excellent benefits which include medical, dental, 401k, life and disability insurance, ample vacation and sick leave, standard holidays, professional development and opportunities for a flexible work schedule which may include remote and teleworking.
