Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Monthly reconciliations of accounts payable and receivable, bank and investment accounts, and expense payments.
- Record, prepare and maintain all accounting books in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Grant/contract management in collaboration with Directors and reporting tasks.
- Responsible for the review and approval of all purchase orders initiated by the Directors and Managers for those contracts in assigned portfolio.
- Participate in development of financial policies and controls.
- Provide financial projections by coordinating budget/forecast preparation; collecting, analyzing information; advising departments on the collection and analysis of data.
- Attends trainings given by funding sources or as required by the organization, and attend departmental meetings.
- Maintain internal controls for separation of fiscal functions analyzes and assist to prepare budget monthly revenue expense and variance reports.
- Prepares schedules as required for yearly programmatic and consolidated audits.
- Work proactively with program staff to understand needs and changes in the program’s operations, and initiate all budget modifications collaboratively.
- Computes and prepares monthly, quarterly and yearly reimbursement vouchers required by funding sources. Help with payroll processing functions.
- Ensure compliance with the rules and regulations administered by the grantor, assists in all audits, including the preparation of all required schedules.
- Conduct physical inventory/asset schedules
- Serve as a key point of contact with funders, including payments and develop and coordinate all requests in a timely manner and in accordance with deadlines.
- Perform other duties as required
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, minimum of 3 years of professional experience in related field; or Associates Degree in accounting or finance, minimum of 5 years of experience in related field.
- Knowledge of financial management and reporting, internal controls, fiscal systems, budgeting and accounting software FUND-EZ A MUST
- Outstanding communications skills for working with operations staff, vendors, funders
- Working knowledge of OASAS Fiscal Guidance, deficit funding, and regulations regarding grant administration including the CFR and Uniform Guidance, highly desired.
- Computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially strong Excel and general ledger maintenance skills.
- Knowledge of Sage software products, highly desired.
