The Career Navigator/Site Coordinator provides employment and job training assistance to residents of Firwood Circle, Burndale Homes, and King County Section-8 residents in Auburn and surrounding area. Career Navigator duties include: recruiting and marketing services to eligible residents (primarily people of color and immigrants and refugees); assessing and planning for education and workplace readiness; providing needed training and support services; coordinating with other providers for wraparound supports including housing, financial capability, and child care; and providing job placement and job retention/wage progression services leading to economic empowerment and self-sufficiency. The Career Navigator/Site Coordinator will also work with employers to develop job opportunities, match clients skills to job descriptions and coordinate occasional hiring events at Firwood Circle. In addition, the Career Navigator maintains records of clients’ progress and completes reports on achievement of program outcomes.
This position has a social justice component that requires critical thinking through the lens of racism and intersections with poverty.
