Song of the Morning Yoga Retreat is a very special place of spiritual community and natural beauty, and we are looking for the right souls to join our small and sincere team dedicated to spiritual service and the highest teachings of ancient and authentic Yoga!

The Guest Services Coordinator is at the center of our mission to offer a place of spiritual refreshment and relaxation to all truth thirsty souls. In this position you are the one most frequently interacting with those souls coming here for an experience of Yoga; coordinating multiple moving pieces so that everything runs smoothly for our organization, and that our guests and retreat facilitators are cared for. The right candidate will have excellent communication skills and a passion for organizing the many moving pieces that make our retreat tick. This includes a high level of organization; extreme comfort working with a computer; emotional, spiritual, and intellectual maturity; a warm and inviting personality that genuinely enjoys interacting with new faces (as well as with the same old faces you see every day!); the ability to multitask, meet deadlines, delegate responsibilities, and communicate clearly to the different souls and teams involved; and perhaps most importantly of all, a hunger for spiritual Truth and Self-Realization.

Benefits

The rewards for living and serving at Song of the Morning are many, and they are profound. Life at Song of the Morning means a life of “simple living and high thinking” as Paramahansa Yogananda puts it. It means a community-centered life surrounded by nature, alongside a beautiful river, eating food from our organic garden which you yourself can help plant, grow, and harvest. It means a life centered around meditation and devotion, and the highest ideals of ancient and authentic Yoga, which for thousands of years has shown us the way towards balancing heart, mind, body, and spirit. Our yogic teachings come directly from an ancient lineage of Indian sages, and carry transformative potentials of self-actualization and Self-Realization. Living at Song of the Morning means being in a spiritualized environment where for 50 years folks have been meditating, singing, praying, and gathering for spiritual refreshment and relaxation - and that spiritually supportive environment is felt by all who come. It means living in conscious community with fellow staff, volunteers, and devotees living on-site or nearby. It means interesting conversations with fellow spiritually-minded individuals who might be visiting on a weekend retreat, or might be making Song of the Morning their permanent home. It means an invitation to nightly meditations, Sunday services, community potlucks, group dinners, book clubs, and quiet time to yourself to walk, read, reflect, traipse around in the snow in the winter or splash around in the river in the summer.

Living at Song of the Morning is a non-traditional spiritually-centered life of fully dedicated service away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Pay starts at minimum wage, with room and board taken out of your paycheck, meaning the take-home stipend at the end of the month is relatively modest. However, if you desire to live simply you can find that all of your needs are met - with cozy accommodations provided and delicious food cooked for you. The right souls whose values are aligned will find that you are taken care of in mind, body, and soul.
