  • Work closely with program and policy teams to create effective, media-facing content that advance Tahirih’s mission and highlight its impact.
  • Effectively influence and contribute to a communications strategy for the organization that drives growth and engagement among media and other key audiences.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support Tahirih staff and survivor advocates who are engaging with media, which includes helping prepare for media interviews and providing talking points, messaging, mock interviews, and coaching.
  • Track Tahirih’s media coverage and manage our press lists.
  • Create reports, one-pagers, briefing books, and other written materials to build awareness and understanding of Tahirih’s issues among reporters, advocates, and supporters.
  • Coordinate with program and policy teams to develop leads and identify opportunities to elevate our programs, activities, reports, and other content to drive media coverage of the organization.
  • Organize press-related events, including calls, conferences, and briefings.
  • Report quarterly on progress toward earned media communications goals.
  • Work with communications and client services staff to develop best practices for client storytelling, which are implemented organization wide.
  • Assist in developing and curating Tahirih’s client story collection and manage Tahirih’s client story bank.
