The Business Center for New Americans (BCNA) is a non-profit that creates a pathway to self-sufficiency and wealth creation for immigrants, refugees, women and others by providing access to capital, specialized training, technical assistance and personalized coaching. BCNA is a Small Business Administration (SBA) Approved Intermediary Lender and certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) by the CDFI Fund at the US Department of the Treasury. The Development Associate works with the Manager of Development and Communications and the Portfolio Manager. You will assist in the implementation of BCNA’s annual development and communications plans with an emphasis on grants tracking, reporting, and special events, and work with the Portfolio Manager to maintain and ensure the accuracy of data for the microfinance loan program, contributing to the sustainability of the organization.

Grants Management and Reporting
Adhere to the grants tracking calendar and collect data for quarterly reports on corporate, government, and foundation grants; ensure accuracy of data and present it in an organized manner. Update tracking spreadsheets for grant deliverables to ensure timely fulfillme of grant requirements..
Manage the collection and electronic storage or filing of documents in support of grant requirements including workshop pre- and post-tests, workshop sign-in sheets and documentation related to individual client consultations.
Loan Data and Reporting
Work closely with the Portfolio Manager and Loan Officers to update and ensure the accuracy of loan data for reports to funders, CDFI trade associations and for resource development You will work with multiple database management platforms (Outcome Tracker, DownHome Solutions;SPARK).
Send out monthly payment reminders to loan clients and track program income from the loan program. Coordinate and assist loan officers with large mailings, including monthly invoice mailings and outreach/promotional mailings. Process loan payments and program income fees.
Managing and Updating the Database of Contacts
Update and ensures the accuracy of client, donor, partner, and other stakeholder contacts in Constant Contact.
Communications, Special Events and Board Support
Provide pre-event and onsite support/coordination of meetings/events (e.g. Immigrant Heritage Week Awards) including tracking registration and attendance; follow-up support. Assist in the preparation of materials and set-up for board meetings, the marketing and branding committee and the loan committee.
Bachelor’s Degree. Minimum of one year relevant experience preferred. Requires excellent skills in Microsoft Office (advanced level in Excel) and database management. You should be detail –oriented, with strong organizational and oral/written communication skills,Interest in working as a team member in a multicultural environment, with an enthusiasm for BCNA’s mission/microfinance.
