SMU DataArts, at Southern Methodist University, seeks a Partner Solutions Associate. The Partner Solutions Associate reports to the Partner Solutions Manager. The position is based in Philadelphia.

About the Position:


The Partner Solutions Associate is responsible for providing new and existing partners an introduction to the DataArts software platform and suite of tools; facilitating their implementation of the Cultural Data Profile (CDP) and system resources for their grantmaking or data collection programs; and assisting in their communications with applicants and member organizations about the CDP.


By stewarding and strengthening grantmaker partner relationships, the position plays a crucial role in securing annual contract renewals as part of an overall resource development strategy.


The position also serves as communications liaison between these partners and DataArts, identifying trends and customer needs and working with the business development and product development teams to translate those insights into new and improved service offerings.


  • Essential Functions:Provide grantmakers and/or service-organization partners with orientation, training and information necessary to maximize their use of the DataArts system as well as their communication with their applicants or member organizations. Ensure that partners are comfortable navigating the DataArts platform. Provide necessary training on available features.
  • Provide partners that are running workforce demographics studies with orientation, training, and information necessary to help them get a high response rate. Help them stay on track with decided time line, deliver orientation webinars and provide day to day support. 
  • Recommend and develop/customize analytic applicant reports for funders (Funder Reports) by assembling existing components or developing custom components. Create specification for custom pieces, test accuracy; and confirm the final product meets client’s needs.
  • Support Partner Solutions Manager in updating specifications and testing updates for Funder Report components to comply with survey updates.
  • Manage and maintain accurate grant program information and detailed client contact records across systems.
  • Monitor grantmaker areas of the platform to identify and report bugs. Ensure prompt resolution of technology service issues.
  • Serve as key source of customer insight and internal “product owner,” working with Business Development, Education, Product Development, and Research teams to develop new tools and services for grantmaking and service organization partners.
  • Offer support to Support Center throughout the year and especially during high volume grant seasons to help ensure they have the information they need on all grant deadlines to ensure applicants easily complete their object of applying for grants.
  • As needed, support cultural nonprofit clients in completing the CDP during high-volume grant deadline periods.

Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably with a major in some sort of cultural discipline preferred (visual, performance, library, etc.)


A minimum of three years of work experience in customer service, technical support, training and education, and/or sales, is required.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Candidate must demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills to communicate effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Must also demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in writing. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain external relationships and develop a rapport with clients is essential.


Candidate must possess strong time management, organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Must also possess solid project management skills. Attention to detail is essential.


Candidate must demonstrate a strong customer service orientation, as well as a commitment to customer service principles and practices with a high degree of emotional intelligence. Must also possess the ability to function independently as well as part of a team, understanding the need for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations. Demonstrated track record of resourcefulness, ingenuity, and creative problem solving is essential.


Candidate must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience working with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and webinar platforms is desirable. Facility with digital design or high interest in learning software for developing analytic reports a plus.
