The Foundation for Biomedical Research – America’s most experienced, trusted and effective non-profit dedicated to improving human and animal health by promoting public understanding and support for biomedical research – is seeking a Digital Communications Specialist to work closely with a team and contractors who are focused on providing communications for the organization. Must be self-motivated, a team player, able to grasp new concepts quickly, and enthusiastic about the field of biomedical research. The Digital Communications Specialist reports to the Director of Communications.

 Responsibilities

  • Writes and posts daily social media updates (Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn).
  • Writes and posts day-to-day website content updates and SEO ranking.
  • Acts as the main point of contact with the website firm for long-term website projects.
  • Authors FBR’s blog posts at: https://fbresearch.org/blog.
  • Design graphics for social media and fact sheets.
  • Analyzes website and social media traffic.
  • Reviews and copy-edits articles, fact sheets, white papers, and press releases.
  • Composes e-blast updates and sends them to FBR’s e-mail list.
  • Provides project management support as needed.
  • Contributes to and supports traditional media outreach efforts.

Required Skills

  • HTML hand coding
  • Website management using the WordPress platform
  • Google Web Analytics
  • Experienced using Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn for professional use
  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • AP Style
  • Microsoft Office

 Additional Requirements

  •  Bachelor’s Degree

Desired Skills

  • Print design experience
  • Email marketing experience
  • Video editing and production experience
