Position Description

Position Profile

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and working closely with the Chief, Strategic Initiatives (CSI), this position helps maximize the value, impact and operations of the CEO and the CEO’s Office. The Associate leads the Office’s project management function, ensuring the responsibilities of the CEO, and workflows associated with their timely execution, are fully aligned with strategic priorities of the organization and effective management of key external partnerships, relationships and stakeholders (including board, investors, advisors and others). The Associate will also support the CEO and CEO’s Office to manage special projects, relationships with external parties and help develop related draft materials and communications..

Primary Responsibilities[1]

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

Project Management and Coordination

  • Lead the project management function for the CEO Office, coordinating and ensuring the workflows are well aligned with other workflows across the organization (such as governance and investor relations, portfolio/investing team, communications, and operations) as well as help drive effective, timely and strategic management of key stakeholder relationships and execution of special projects.
  • Forecast, track, and report progress towards daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly priorities and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Help ensure the CEO’s schedule is strategically organized in alignment with key priorities of the organization, working closely with Chief, Strategic Initiatives, and the Executive Assistant and other members of the team as needed
  • Partner with the CEO to ensure involvement in project or decision-making processes is timely, highly responsive to needs of the organization, other team members and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate calendars and input/deliverables needed from others and assist with all meeting preparation, follow up and timely resolve of issues across the organization and with external stakeholders and special projects.
  • With the Executive Assistant, ensure the CEO’s document library is well organized and maintained.

CEO - Communications and Content Development

  • Draft and iterate internal and external memos, correspondence, social media and PowerPoint presentations related to all above mentioned activity>
  • Help develop and execute on meeting agenda development, management, note taking and follow up for both internal and external meetings that are initiated and/or facilitated by CEO’s office.


  • Alignment with Blue Meridian’s mission and core values.
  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. including experience working with senior leaders in a project management and support role. Experience working in philanthropy, nonprofits and/or strategy consulting desirable.
  • Perspective from direct experience living or working in communities with significant low income or otherwise disenfranchised peoples preferred.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including experience developing compelling PowerPoint presentations. Comfortable engaging with and presenting at senior levels.
  • Strong skills in developing and managing relationships.
  • Highly organized and strong ability to effectively prioritize competing demands. Strong track record in project management of complex workflows.
  • Highly energetic, self-motivated, and entrepreneurial, able to balance a meticulous and highly rigorous professional approach with a flexible and empathetic responsiveness to the needs of others. While skilled at thinking and working independently and advocating own point of view, respects and solicits the contributions of others.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with a professional and genial demeanor, and the ability to work with and lead people with different backgrounds and experiences.
  • Strong computer skills with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and the ability to master new software quickly. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM and SharePoint is a plus.
  • Willing to travel as needed.
