Social Venture Partners Seattle (SVP Seattle) seeks a Program Manager to join our team. This Program Manager will collaborate with our dynamic Partnership to advance racial equity and justice through the practice of philanthropy.

Position Summary: The Program Manager plays a key role in managing SVP Seattle’s external and internal programming. This includes managing grantmaking committees, supporting grantees, managing Partner training/education sessions, and working with Partners to cultivate meaningful experiences.

This includes connecting individuals who want to give their time, talent, and treasure to make their communities stronger, and amplifying the work of nonprofits through our capacity building, grantmaking, advocacy, and skilled volunteering. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitating SVP Seattle’s grantmaking process by supporting the Chairs and Committee members of the New Grant Committee, the Education Collective Action Team, and the Climate Justice Action Team.
  • Supporting the relationship between SVP Seattle and our grantees by developing and maintaining relationships with our grantees‘ staff, supporting SVP Lead Partners who serve as liaisons to our grantees, matching our grantees with Lead Partners and Partners for volunteer activities, developing and leading grantee support cohorts, and managing our database of Partners‘ skills and talents for volunteer opportunities.

·      Connecting SVP Seattle’s Partners, grantees, and community members: developing or maintaining relationships in communities and with organizations across the Puget Sound region, attending community events on behalf of SVP Seattle and facilitating SVP Seattle events that bring together our broader community.

  • Supporting the development of our Partners by planning and managing Partner Education Sessions, including sessions that deepen Partners‘ engagement around racial justice, supporting our Communities of Practice, and participating in the design and implementation of SVP Seattle events, such as our All-Partner Meeting.
  • Being an active member of SVP Seattle’s staff team: Participating in recruitment and engagement activities with Partners, grantees, and other key stakeholders as needed; attending bi-monthly Board meetings; providing administrative support as needed; and performing other duties as assigned or required.

Successful Program Manager candidates have an:

•     Commitment to the values, mission, model, and work of Social Venture Partners Seattle

•     Eagerness to work with a wide range of volunteer/Partner personalities in addition to understanding nonprofit organizations

•     Strong interpersonal and relationship building skill-set, including facilitation and contact management.

•     Demonstrated ability to listen, to assess, and to identify resources and to implement solutions

•     Ability and confidence to function in a volunteer driven environment, understanding how to manage volunteers while leading the program forward

•     High aptitude for being in a coaching and support role, with a desire to learn from and help others learn, and to follow the servant leadership model

•     Ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholder groups with competing priorites and timelines

•     Excellent attention to detail, with strong organization skills

•     Flexible team player minset: able to work in an environment with overlapping program areas and staff responsibilities

•     Actively pursues continuous learning and growth in area of expertise

Qualifications Required:

·      Six to eight years relevant combined education/work experience, including work with non-profit/public administration, group facilitation/teaching, event planning and management, social innovation and entrepreneurship

•     Excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills

•     Previous experience working with and supporting skills-based volunteers

•     Relevant experience in program and project management

•     Experience leading and managing projects, including budgets and timelines /program management,

•     Previous event management and execution experience

•     Comfortable with MS Office Suite, and with learning/using new software


Qualifications Desired:

·      Six to eight years relevant combined education/work experience, including work with non-profit/public administration, group facilitation/teaching, event planning and management, social innovation and entrepreneurship

•     Previous experience in non-profit organizational development and capacity building

•     Previous experience in managing large scale events with numerous stakeholders

•     Salesforce relationship management software experience

Compensation and location:

Salary commensurate with lived and professional experience and will range from $70,000-$80,000 a year. This is a full-time position with benefits, including health, vision, and dental insurance, 403b matching after six months, and three weeks of paid vacation, two personal days, the week between Christmas and New Years and two weeks of sick leave, annually.

This position reports to Director of Partner Engagement. SVP Seattle staff are currently working remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, we do ask staff to be available for in-person work in the King County region on a weekly basis.
