POSITION: Vice President of Human Resources

REPORTS TO: CFO

SALARY: $150-165,000 Annual

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a senior adviser, coach, and trusted resource to the leadership team
  • Provide leadership and direction to the management team on HR issues such as organization design, leadership development, succession management, recruitment, performance management, training, human resource policy, talent retention strategies and compensation
  • Evaluate and promote opportunities within and across Divisions to improve effectiveness in areas such as organizational structure, work processes, teamwork, and leadership
  • Collaborate with Legal Counsel, Compliance and Senior Leadership to review union and consultant contracts 
  • Provide a Strategic Vision for leadership and talent: recruitment, employee engagement, training, professional development, performance evaluation, compensation, etc
  • Oversee research and drafting of employee manuals
  • Oversee organization-wide recruitment of a high-caliber, diverse and values-aligned staff
  • Manage total compensation: set initial salary determinations and participate in salary reviews for all staff. Conduct periodic salary and benefits benchmarking surveys within local labor markets and develop related salary protocols.
  • Oversee annual auditing and selection/negotiation of benefits packages: health, welfare and pensions plans
  • Lead institutional efforts to establish a vibrant and unifying organizational culture
  • Serve as a key internal point person for employee and consultant relations and personnel mediation; promote work life balance and retention through creative benefits initiatives; promote employee wellness
  • Assure compliance with Labor Laws and Best Practices.
  • Analyze and present reports to the CFO using business metrics and KPI’s
  • Interface with Labor lawyers and/or regulatory entities as needed
  • Develop and manage the HR budget
  • Hire, guide and evaluate the HR team through mentoring, coaching and leadership
  • Represent organization in high-level negotiations such as Collective Bargaining Agreements

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree required: Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years practical experience in Human Resources
