Guide Families on the Path to a Great Education

We are seeking a full time Chief Program Officer who will establish the vision and direction for all our Navigation work. This critical role at our 17-person organization is responsible for ensuring that we provide exceptional educational support that makes a difference for families, continually refining and improving our navigation strategies and practices, and helping build a sustainable and valuable service. As a member of our Executive Team, the Chief Program Officer will work with the CEO, COO and Chief Communications Officer to lead the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure outstanding quality of navigation at the local and national levels by building out systems and processes to develop/train staff and quality control our services
  • Assess and refine our program model to ensure it is efficient, effective and sustainable
  • Codify knowledge and share best practices throughout the team
  • Manage Executive Directors and Lead Navigator for National Support to high levels of performance
  • Represent EdNavigator and champion navigation support with various external audiences
  • Serve as member of 4-person Executive Team to make high level strategic decisions for the organization
  • Nurture and grow a positive and inclusive culture in a mission-driven, diverse, and virtual organization

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred candidates will be passionate about our mission and have a minimum of 7 years of success in student- and family-facing roles, including clear evidence of supporting academic success.

They will also be:

  • An experienced educator with proven results growing learning and non-academic outcomes for students
  • Deeply committed to diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Able to form strong relationships with families and students
  • Excellent managers and talent developers
  • Flexible, curious, and eager to learn and give/receive feedback
  • Excellent communicators who share their message with clarity, respect and honesty
  • Well-organized and able to manage high bandwidth and multiple priorities while meeting ambitious deadlines
  • Results-oriented and ready to leverage relevant experience to move to action when faced with uncertainty or ambiguity
  • Creative, persistent, and effective problem-solvers
  • Self-disciplined and able to work well independently in our virtual organization
  • Highly comfortable with technology such as Slack, Dropbox, MS Office, Google Workspace, and EdNavigator’s mobile app
  • Willing to travel for org-related events and meetings when necessary (Note: The national nature of this role may require ~10 trips annually.)
