Reporting directly to the Director of the Barnard Center for Toddler Development, the Associate Director works with the Director to oversee the educational aspects of the Center for Toddler Development, guided by the philosophy of the Toddler Center. The Associate Director is the educational director of the early childhood programs, supervises teachers, and educates student teachers about toddler development in the classroom. Associate Director coordinates parent development programs including parent groups, oversees administrative tasks of the classroom and parent communication and trains new staff in the methods of the Toddler Center.
-M.A. in early childhood education, early childhood licensure in NY State, or equivalent to meet Dept. of Health qualification for Educational Director-Ten or more years of experience working with young children in group setting and with parents of young children-Minimum of 5 years working with toddler age-Minimum of 5 years of experience directly supervising teachers or other professionals working with young children
