Career Wardrobe is a nonprofit social enterprise that uses clothing and professional development to empower unemployed individuals to work. The Wardrobe is both our resale store and the cornerstone of our program. At The Wardrobe we provide professional clothing to individuals in transition at no cost with a referral and the public can also shop for great deals on casual to professional clothing.

The Sales Assistant position provides support primarily for our resale operations working weekday evening and Saturday shifts, although other shifts may be required. The successful candidate will be a goal-oriented sales professional who is able to provide excellent customer service and can be a productive team member.

Part Time Position with the following shift availability:

  • Monday closing (5-7:30pm)
  • Saturdays (10:30-6:30pm)
  • Additional evening or daytime shifts as required

Inventory Management & Operations

  • Interest in retail and fashion merchandising, including the ability to identify fashion trends and designers for inventory selection, pricing and sales transactions
  • Sort and prepare donated inventory for reselling, including tagging and pricing
  • Administrative and other duties as assigned

Customer Service and Sales

  • Merchandising store and creating an inviting atmosphere for customers and donors
  • Provide one-on-one services assisting customers and to achieve sales goals
  • Operate cash register/point of sale system and responsible for cash handling, credit card processing and reconciliation


  • Previous experience in resale/consignment or retail sales
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse populations
  • Attention to detail, ability to work independently and be a positive team member
  • Computer literate with the ability to work with Google applications (mail, calendar) and point of sale systems
  • Physical ability to work an 8-hour shift with moderate physical labor
  • All employees with resale positions are subject to a criminal background check
