Ironbound Community Corporation is a community based non-profit seeking a new leader for its Domestic Violence program. We are seeking a leader who can improve program delivery, strengthen Domestic Violence awareness, be a champion for core aspects of our mission and vision, and while also setting our future direction and leading the next phase of our work to ensure continued superior results. This position will serve as a social justice advocate, representing the community’s needs, on committees and at community meetings. This position requires effective leadership skills and an ability to work with a dynamic team to initiate and engage residents in a wide range of activities and services. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability and desire to assist clients in times of crisis without limitation within the agencies scope of services. This position will report to the Director of Programs.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Programming

·        Supervise, train and support case managers, social work interns and volunteers.

·        Conduct intake and assessment of clients.

·        Guide case managers with linking residents to critical information and referral services.

·        Work with the program team to develop and implement comprehensive intake, needs assessments, family treatment plans and pre/post evaluation systems. Evaluation should inform impact that program is having in the community.

·        Effectively manage all program administrative tasks, such as reporting, collecting/maintaining data and ensuring that program deliverables are met on a timely basis.

·        Advocate and accompany clients to court appointments.

·        Work closely with the program’s licensed counselors to ensure all therapeutic counseling program deliverables are met.

·        Support DV survivors in their transition to safe housing.

·        Develop, oversee and implement the programs annual work plan to ensure all deliverables are met on a timely basis.

·        Coordinate internal cross-programming with other departments

·        Attend external meetings as the program representative and client advocate.

·        Oversee and implement program policies.

·        Ensures programs adhere to grant guidelines.

·        Plan, design, implement and evaluate culturally responsive community education programs and support to help victim’s access protection and other culturally appropriate services.

·        Provide clients with information, resources and referrals that are culturally, linguistically, and developmentally appropriate for their needs.

Outreach

·        Manage outreach efforts through various channels, including (but not limited to) social media, mass-mailing, flyers, faith-based channels, community-based organizations, schools and ethnic media; network with other community-based organizations to do cross referrals for programs.

  • Organize or participate in community, cultural and outreach events organized by company or by others to promote recognition of agency Domestic Violence Program brand and its services.
  • Support leadership in developing strategic partnership with other agencies, identifying service gaps and advocating for unmet needs to the city, county, and other funders/ stakeholders.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS OR QUALIFICATIONS, SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS

·        A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in related job field required or equivalent experience. Master of Social Work a plus

·        Minimum of 4 years of experience working in a nonprofit, particularly delivering social services

·        Desire to serve people in need and relate to diverse populations

·        Strong organizational, managerial/supervisory and communication skills

·        Domestic Violence service delivery a plus

·        Strong writing skills and some knowledge of proposal writing.

·        Demonstrated self-starter/initiative, ability to work independently and with teams

·        Ability to work with a diverse staff, motivate and assure accountability

·        Knowledge of Essex County and City of Newark social services network a plus

·        Must have own transportation a valid driver’s license in good standing

·        Computer literate (Microsoft Office suite- Word, Excel, Power Point) and social media savviness.
