Description

The Development Associate will play an integral role in supporting DOROT’s Development Department activities; this includes working on all events, donor management, direct mail coordination and correspondence.

Primary Responsibilities

Cultivation Event Planning and Support

·       Events Management

o  Assist with the logistics for the Gala, luncheons, receptions and meetings

o  Manage invitation mailing process, guest lists and track responses in Raiser’s Edge

·       Maintain all Board and donor files and correspondence from clients and donors

·       Process and code checks, manage record keeping and reports


Raiser’s Edge Database

·       Support the Donor Database Coordinator as needed

·       Manage major donor accounts

·       Oversee donor acknowledgements

·       Maintain and track information for monthly donors

·       Responsible for all tribute gifts and acknowledgements


     

Direct Mail

·       Participate in strategy conference calls for this very important revenue stream

·       Write email appeals

·       Oversee proofing of materials, bill payments, and thank you letters

·       Provide campaign updates


Writing and editing

·       Assist in writing and editing all donor correspondence

·       Proofread and edit other Department materials


Work Experience: Looking for an enthusiastic candidate who is interested in entering the field of non-profit development or someone with 2 years of experience in a Development Department

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

·       Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in maintaining confidentiality

·       Ability to work effectively with staff, donors, and Board members

·       Excellent organizational skills

·       Excellent interpersonal skills

·       Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite 2007

·       Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge is a plus
