ABOUT THE LATINO COMMISSION ON AIDS

The Latino Commission on AIDS is a nonprofit organization, founded in 1990, dedicated to meet the health challenges and address the impact of HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis and STIs in Latino communities. The Latino Commission on AIDS realizes its mission by spearheading health advocacy, promoting community education, developing model prevention programs for high-risk communities, and by building capacity in our community-based organizations and community partners.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounts Payable (A/P) staff is a key position within the Fiscal and Administration department at the Latino Commission on AIDS. The A/P staff will ensure that all the records are accurately done and filed appropriately. This position plays a central role in terms of record keeping and data entry for all invoices/time keeping/posting for the entire fiscal operation at the Latino Commission.

In addition, it is required that the A/P manage all vendors and maintain good communication and relationships with staff/consultants/vendors.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Keep track of all payments and expenditures, including purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.
  • Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
  • Maintain historical records
  • Manage reimbursement to employees by verifying expense reports
  • Manage accounts with vendors by scheduling payments and ensuring tracking services and good of the agency
  • Prepare analyses of accounts and producing monthly reports
  • Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
  • Assemble invoices into batches to be completed for payment.
  • Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
  • Work with Director of Finance and Administration in all aspects of our fiscal operations, program budgets and cost centers.
  • Assist in identifying back-up information when internal and/or external audit are conducted at the agency
  • Assist in generating a month end reporting procedures, reconcile multiple accounts (internal and external operations of the agency).

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA, High School Diploma or equivalent with focus on fiscal and administration areas
  • Previous accounts payable experience
  • Excellent reconciliation and experience in understanding the general fiscal operation of a non-for- profit
  • Competent computer skills including MS Office or equivalent
  • internet skills including use of e-mails, group messaging and data collection
  • Numeracy and literacy skills
