Congregation Beth Shalom of the Blue Hills an inclusive Jewish congregation looking for an experienced, committed Full or Part Time (15-20 hours per week) Office Manager. Applicant need not be Jewish.

This position is an integral part of our small professional staff. The successful candidate will work independently and coordinate and handle a variety of projects including administrative duties working with the Rabbi, President, Board of Directors and Director of Education.

This position will have considerable interaction with synagogue members, prospective members and the general public. We are looking for a flexible team member with varied administrative experience that can also work independently with minimal direction. The ideal candidate will bring initiative, creativity and strong social skills to this position.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as a point of contact for all administrative issues with Rabbi, President and Education Director.

General office responsibilities, answering phones, maintain office supplies and equipment, mail etc.

Phones, filing, ordering supplies, emails, daily mail, and outgoing correspondence.

Prepare, type, and format a wide variety of material such as flyers, programs, postcards, email notices.

Assisting in maintaining our database and pulling reports as requested.

Schedule meetings and events with congregants and staff.

Serve as initial contact for members and others who are trying to reach the Rabbi, Congregation President and other synagogue leaders.

Manage and direct part time maintenance person.

Responsible for the social media presence of our synagogue (Facebook, website, internet postings, etc.)

Banking and Bookkeeping responsibilities.

Management of website calendar.

Provide administrative support for meetings, presentations, projects.

Coordinate event planning for synagogue life cycle events (weddings, bar/bat mitzvah, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum of 2 + years’ office manager experience.

Exceptional interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional demeanor on the telephone and in person.

Ability to interact and communicate with a variety of audiences and hold confidential information.

Proficiency with MS

Proficient with Word, QuickBooks, Zoom and Excel.

Experience with ShulCloud is a plus.

Social Media experience including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram,  

The ability to respond resourcefully in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

Attention to the accuracy and visual presentation of materials.

The ideal candidate is highly-motivated, flexible, and capable of managing multiple priorities

simultaneously is flexible and has a good sense of humor.
