Position Description: The Communications Associate works closely with the Communications Director to manage all aspects of Outdoor Alliance’s communications, including external-facing messaging for our policy campaigns, developing and distributing content across our platforms, social media management and media relations, engaging our growing email list, and translating complex policy into actionable content. We are looking for someone who loves the outdoors and is passionate about bringing citizens together to affect public policy. A successful candidate will have experience in communications, be a strong writer, have a willingness to learn and make mistakes as they go, share a passion for the outdoors and conservation, have a commitment to data-driven engagement strategies, and have a desire to be a part of a warm and inclusive working environment. Working with our Communications Director, the Communications Associate will use innovative communications and engagement strategies to unite the voices of outdoor enthusiasts to protect, enhance, and promote the human-powered outdoor recreation experience on public lands.

About Outdoor Alliance: Outdoor Alliance works to engage the human-powered outdoor recreation community to drive policy outcomes that support conservation and sustainable and equitable recreation access. Outdoor Alliance is a coalition of human-powered outdoor recreation nonprofits, including Access Fund, American Canoe Association, American Whitewater, International Mountain Bicycling Association, Winter Wildlands Alliance, The Mountaineers, American Alpine Club, Colorado Mountain Club, the Mazamas, and Surfrider Foundation. We unite the voices of the outdoor community to conserve public lands and ensure those lands are managed in a way that embraces the human-powered experience.
