The Bipartisan Policy Center is a Washington, DC-based think tank that actively fosters bipartisanship by combining the best ideas from both parties to promote health, security, and opportunity for all Americans. Our policy solutions are the product of informed deliberations by former elected and appointed officials, business and labor leaders, and academics and advocates who represent both sides of the political spectrum. BPC prioritizes one thing above all else: getting things done.
BPC is currently seeking a Policy Analyst to support its Economic Policy Project (EPP), with a focus on labor market challenges and solutions. The EPP team is committed to developing bipartisan policy recommendations to enhance the financial prosperity and security of the American people. The project also provides timely analysis of fiscal and economic developments and proposals.
The Policy Analyst will report to the Associate Director of EPP and focus primarily on three interrelated policy areas: paid family leave, unemployment insurance, and workforce development. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work on these key issues affecting real working families, meet with experts and stakeholders, and witness firsthand how ideas are debated by principals and translated into policy recommendations.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The position of Policy Analyst at BPC is a versatile one, involving a variety of tasks, often at the same time. Specific responsibilities may include conducting research on issues; analyzing data; drafting and editing reports, policy briefs, blog posts, fact sheets, and op-eds; and proactively executing other meaningful tasks such as project management, event planning, and communicating BPC’s work through a variety of media. The Policy Analyst will be an essential part of a small and hard-working team.
We recognize that expertise on all of the subjects mentioned above is rare. Thus, we are looking for someone who is both passionate about American workers and their families and has the foundational skills to become an expert in additional areas and support our team.
