Recruitment is taking place for the following position: Manager, Professional Accreditation

Primary Responsibilities include:

Management and implementation of ACCME and ABIM regulations and criteria/requirements for ATS continuing medical education (CME) and maintenance of certification (MOC) activities. Direct the ACCME Self Study process. Ensure ATS compliance with ACCME Standards for Commercial Support for all accredited programs, including the International Conference sessions. Oversee the development, submission, and revision of all Maintenance of Certification modules to ACCME PARS and support the programming and launch of the modules to the target audience. Staff Education Committee and serve as Education Committee liaison to other standing ATS Committees

ACCME Management

·        Manage and maintain documentation compliance and CME oversight for all ATS educational activities.

·        Advise the staff and relevant Committees and Assemblies on CME compliance issues and suggest improvement of forms and processes as needed

·        Liaise with all ATS departments, Chapters and Joint Sponsors that manage activities which offer CME credit.

·        Attend regular ACCME trainings on Self Study preparation and compliance regulations in order to maintain or enhance competencies needed by CME professionals

·        Manage and submit the required annual reports to ACCME PARS on numbers and kinds of CME activities, learner participation and financial data.

·        Evaluate and implement opportunities for jointly-sponsoring CME activities with external organizations.

·        Oversee the preparation, submission and defense of the ATS ACCME self-study report, performance in practice files and site visit interview needed for re-accreditation.

Chapter CME Management

·        Serve as primary contact to local Chapters wishing to designate their events for CME. Facilitate their application process, provide FAQ support and coordinate the COI process for Chapters with Chapter Administrators and ATS COI staff.

Journal and Manuscript CME Management

·        Sit on Journal CME and Manuscript Planning Committees and act as point of contact with Journal team.

Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Management

·        Serve as primary ATS liaison with the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics. Attend bi-annual meetings with the ABIM to assess any changes to the MOC process and implement them for ATS educational activities.

Staff the Education Committee and liaise with other standing ATS Committees

·        Management of all activities and working groups of the Education Committee, including participation on monthly conference calls and strategic guidance during multiple meetings and calls year-round.

Qualifications: 

·        Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in education, behavioral sciences, business or planning.

·        Master's degree preferred (or evidence of equivalent knowledge gained through extensive professional experience).

·        Knowledge of other languages is a plus.

·        Minimum four years experience in the administration of medical education programs. Three (3) years involvement in managing CME activities.

·        An employment history including strategic and tactical planning and knowledge of the CME accreditation process with proven success.

·        Highly accurate, detail oriented, ability to work independently, and demonstrated adherence to deadlines.

·        Strong documentation skills and ability to multi-task.

·        Must be able to use common Windows-based programs in word processing, e-mail, and database management, such as MS Word, Outlook, Excel, MS Access.
