Mission:

Northwest Hope & Healing Foundation (NWHH) seeks an Operations & Development Coordinator with a passion for helping women facing cancer. NWHH is a nonprofit that partners with Swedish Cancer Institute (SCI), a leading cancer treatment center in the Puget Sound. NWHH offers financial grants, healing boxes and other support to breast and gynecologic cancer patients at SCI.

Northwest Hope and Healing, founded over two decades ago, has raised over $2.6 million dollars, served 3,000 women with financial grants and provided nearly 10,000 with healing boxes. Most of our funds come from virtual and in-person events; a major annual event, several smaller events and a monthly giving circle. We have two full-time staff, a dedicated group of volunteers and an active Board of Directors. Our annual budget is $500,000.

Northwest Hope & Healing is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion and we are actively seeking a pool of diverse candidates.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

The Operations and Development Coordinator is primarily responsible for assisting the Executive Director and the Board of Directors with all fundraising initiatives, activities, and events. Roughly half of their regular workload will consist of operations management, including, but not limited to: CRM management; data collection and analysis; infrastructure and office organization and management; updating the website; grant writing; and event planning and execution. One quarter of the role consists of development activities, including: donor outreach and communication; corporate partner outreach; and fundraising strategy (to include monthly giving and P2P campaigns). The remaining quarter of the responsibilities are related to marketing: social media management; Google Ad management; and graphic design for any collateral and ads that will be produced in-house.

The Operations and Development Coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for most outside vendors and partners and must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. They will be organized and able to work within firm deadlines to thank and acknowledge donors. When the organization recruits volunteers to assist with an event, they will organize regular volunteer meetings and report directly to the Executive Director on the progress of volunteer-led projects.

Several NWHH events will fall to the Operations and Development Coordinator to plan and execute. In addition to providing copy, graphics, and logistical support for the large-scale Fashion Show Fundraiser, they will also serve as the point person for smaller events and fundraisers such as the Hope & Harmonies Benefit Concert, the Weekend of Wellness, and any others that may arise. They will also have the opportunity to creatively implement events and programs that serve the mission of Northwest Hope & Healing.

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following:

·      Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to write copy for a range of purposes (marketing, donor outreach, grants, event invitations, etc.)

·      Knowledge of social media best practices and a proven track record of growing and engaging online audiences for a professional brand

·      Strong graphic design skills and an ability to take constructive feedback from the Executive Director, the Board, and any other pertinent parties

·      Creative problem-solving skills and the capacity to adapt to challenges during the planning and execution of events

·      The skills to work well both independently with little supervision and within groups to achieve goals

·      Familiarity with CRM management (Little Green Light preferred, but any CRM experience would be an asset)

Requirements:

·      A friendly, personable attitude

·      Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

·      Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)

·      Basic familiarity with website design and development

·      Available to occasionally work weekends, evenings, and other hours outside of regular business hours

·      A Bachelor’s degree or higher

·      Live in the Seattle area and be able to commute to downtown office

Benefits:

Hybrid position, including both remote and occasional in-office work required

Full-time, exempt position

Annual Salary: $55,000

Paid Time Off: Two week/year (inclusive of vacation and sick leave)

Paid holidays (13 days) include all federal holidays plus the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve
