Special Assistant to the President

The Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation (Restoration) is seeking a Special Assistant to the President. The person who holds this position will report directly to the President & CEO and will work closely with the EVP for programs who oversees programming under the Restoration's Center for Financial Health and Center for Healthy Neighborhoods, and the EVP for Strategy & Business Development who oversees programming under Restoration's Brooklyn Business Center.

Primary Responsibilities and Expectation:

The role is perfect for someone looking to drive impact and disrupt the racial wealth gap while learning from highly skilled and experienced leaders. The Special Assistant to the President will work on high priority projects, strategic initiatives, and fundraising efforts to expand the capacity of Restoration and help support Central Brooklyn residents during a time of critical need

• Multitask, working on multiple projects for our leadership in parallel
• Organize, keeping tabs on high priority initiatives and ensuring tasks are completed on time
• Create, working in teams and independently to create presentation materials tailored to different audiences
• Strategize, helping support and implement detailed scaling plans to expand the reach of our programmatic interventions
• Outreach, supporting the President by proactively drafting emails and communicating directly with other nonprofit and corporate leaders

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree at an accredited 4 - year university
• 2 -4 years of work experience in a development or strategy role,
• Prior experience in a nonprofit or management consulting preferred,
• Experience in project management also preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office ( PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and Google Suite, a primary responsibility of yours will be creating presentation materials for both internal and external audiences with guidance from Senior leadership. You must be comfortable and have experience working in PowerPoint and/Google Slides

• Passionate about the nonprofit space, community development and helping others
• Ownership mindset, be proactive in your suggestions and take full ownership over your work, expecting a significant amount of independence and autonomy
• Confident, ready to speak up in meetings and present your ideas to senior leadership
• Strategic, excellent strategic thinking skills, with the ability to operationalize concepts and transform ideas into action as well as problem solving skills
• Team player, happy working independently on projects and initiatives but also work seamlessly across various teams to problem-solve, clearly communicate and delegate tasks, and strategize
