ABOUT FOOD EDUCATION FUND

The Food Education Fund (FEF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports culinary-focused public high school students and alumni to prepare them for college or careers in food-related industries. The Food Education Fund runs various programs to accomplish this mission, including our job training and internship program, food media program, alumni accelerator program, and our student-run cafe and restaurant. The Food Education Fund also awards scholarships and assists with the college prep and search process. 


We’ve been rapidly expanding our impact, tripling the number of students we work with over the past three years and growing our alumni programming. This is a critical time of growth and formation for the organization, and a great time to join the growing team! ABOUT THE POSITION

The Executive Assistant will be reporting to the Executive Director, focusing on assisting with administrative tasks, development and fundraising tasks, general operations support, and assistance with programs.


START DATE

This is a full-time position beginning as soon as possible. This position requires availability to work flexible hours as needed (the schedule will be fixed, flexible hours are in regards to scheduled special events or programs).


COMPENSATION

This salary for this position is dependent on experience but will be within the $55,000-$60,000 range.

DUTIES

The Executive Assistant will have the following responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Executive Director with tasks such as:
  • Scheduling
  • Creating materials for call follow-up (decks, budgets, status updates)
  • Email organization and responses
  • Project Management
  • Development admin tasks such as:
  • General Data Entry
  • Thank You Letter Writing
  • In-Kind Donation Coordination
  • Grant Research
  • Fundraising Event Coordination
  • General Development Assistance
  • Nonprofit general admin support
  • Additional duties as assigned


KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required
  • Ideal candidate has nonprofit and/or program experience and is comfortable multitasking
  • Strong computer skills preferred including GSuite, Salesforce, MailChimp, Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of drivers of educational inequity and key issues that impact youth development 
  • Ability to demonstrate cultural competency with diverse communities 
  • Flexibility in working both independently and collaboratively 
  • Willingness to address emergent priorities in any capacity 
  • Ability to work with a variety of learning abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team and to do a wide variety of tasks assigned

WORK SCHEDULE

The Executive Assistant will be a full-time position starting as soon as possible. The schedule will be 40 hours per week Monday - Friday 9:00A - 5:00P with a few weekend days possible (all days worked outside of normal working hours are eligible for earned comp days). The person in this position will manage their time effectively so as to ensure all tasks are completed during peak periods and that long-term projects are completed during non-peak periods. This position will be expected to be present in person at least two days per week.
