We are a local branch of a national, non-profit career guidance and research organization. We have a full-time job opening for a professional, degreed candidate to begin immediately.

We are looking for intellectually curious individuals to administer and interpret aptitude tests to people seeking understanding of personal abilities as an aid in career or educational planning. We enjoy being informed about the world of work and its many opportunities. Though we are not psychologists, this could be a fulfilling position for someone who is interested in psychology, sociology, anthropology or the social sciences in general. It combines elements of counseling and consulting with test administration to help others learn more about themselves. This position is a combination of clerical, test administration, results analysis, counseling/consulting work, and general office management.

The position requires accurate attention to detail in scoring and timing tests, in addition to articulate explanation of career-oriented information. We also must handle our own office support work: grading papers, entering data, scheduling appointments, responding to telephone and e-mail inquiries, and more.

Applicant must:

  • have excellent skills in communicating detailed ability information to clients
  • enjoy working with people on an individual basis in a professional testing and counseling setting
  • handle a high volume of paperwork quickly and accurately, and be able to perform general office tasks such as answering phones, scoring papers, and scheduling appointments.

No sales or solicitation is involved with this position. Our clients come to us usually by word-of-mouth referrals because they want to learn more about themselves in order to find rewarding work. We deal with high school/college students and adults looking for career and educational advice.

Starting salary is $42,047 and is increased to $46,357 upon completion of training. We offer a medical and dental insurance plan as well as a 403b.

Typically, our office hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, leaving evenings and weekends free for life outside work: family, friends, education, gigs, hobbies, etc. There are no last minute all-night or even after normal work hours obligations.

The ideal candidate would have some full-time work experience, enjoy helping others understand themselves using objective measurements in a positive way and would enjoy learning about and discussing individual abilities in relation to education and careers and derive satisfaction from keeping the place organized. This is a very small work environment.

We provide full training of the specifics of our training program and its administration. You bring a broad background of interests and knowledge evidenced by a bachelor's degree and a measurable ability to process numeric information quickly.

Please NO phone calls at this time. Interested applicants should apply with a COVER LETTER AND RESUME via Bamboo (or through the Apply Now button on Indeed) to the attention of Clare Spitnale.
